Meet Camil Davis

Camil Davis began her career in property management at the age of 18 as a part time leasing agent while earning a degree at the College of William & Mary . She worked for Landmark Property Services until she graduated college and became an assistant manager. The property that she helped manage won the 2014 Tax Credit Property of the Year award. After this, she transferred to another community within the same portfolio and was promoted to property manager, but within one year she chose to return to college to earn her Masters degree in Clinical Counseling and decided to leave property management. Two years later, she realized that property management was the best field for her, and rejoined her former company as a leasing agent.

She was nominated for Leasing Professional of the Year in 2018 and On-Site Outstanding performer in 2020. At this time, she was chosen to manage a lease-up at a brand new community, which was also nominated for Urban Community of the Year. Camil joined the VAMA Legislative Committee and participated in weekly meetings, lobby day, and a local television event.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many employees lost their jobs and Camil ended her time with Landmark Property Services. She temporarily joined the Hopewell Redevelopment & Housing Authority in 2021 and was recognized for assisting residents with the Virginia Rent Relief Program helping low income families. After this project completed, she joined the SL Nusbaum team in October 2021 as assistant property manager at a mixed use property that won the Inclusive Community Award at the 2021 Governor's Housing Conference. The community provides new, affordable housing in a previously historical black neighborhood in the city of Richmond, and is transformed into an inclusive community. Camil shines at working with minorities and people from all walks of life and races and believes an inclusive environment can benefit us all by opening our minds and hearts to accept the differences of others.
